What is the development direction of power lithium battery technology -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment
As the electric vehicle and lithium battery industry summit forum with equal emphasis on forward-looking and industrialization, this forum presents new technologies, new ideas and new directions of electric vehicle technology, power battery, and upstream material and equipment industry from an international perspective, promotes the combination of electric vehicles, logistics vehicles, buses, electric travel platforms and lithium battery manufacturers, and seeks development space for lithium battery enterprises. Dr. Lou Zhongliang, Technical Director of Sandton New Energy Battery Research and Development Center, was invited to give a keynote speech focusing on "the development direction of power battery technology in the post subsidy era" from a technical perspective.
2018 is a year of rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry. In 2018, the sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.256 million, with a penetration rate of 4.5%, an increase of 63.5% compared with 2017. Among them, the sales volume of new energy passenger cars reached 1.053 million, with a year-on-year growth of 83.8% (compared with 2017).
With the explosive growth of new energy passenger vehicles in recent years, the application proportion of soft battery in new energy vehicles is increasing year by year. With the characteristics of high energy density, good safety performance, long cycle life, small internal resistance and flexible design, soft battery cell is expected to accelerate the penetration of soft battery in the new energy vehicle market, driven by the localization trend of aluminum plastic film. Lou Zhongliang believes that the flexible battery will be the trend of future development. It is the so-called "people who get passenger cars get the world".
However, in the context of the official issuance of the new energy vehicle subsidy policy in 2019, every entrant is thinking about how to find the right direction and win the first opportunity in the torrent of new energy vehicle development after the launch of the new policy. Lou Zhongliang believes that the new subsidy policy improves the energy consumption standard, requires higher vehicle performance, and continues to guide the high-end of new energy vehicles. In addition, the improvement of energy density is relatively stable, which puts forward higher requirements for the energy consumption of the whole vehicle, while taking into account the safety requirements. The use of low cost lithium iron phosphate battery has to some extent alleviated consumers' anxiety about vehicle purchase costs caused by declining subsidies, making users more willing to pay for new energy vehicles.
The layout of battery technology determines whether enterprises can win a decisive battle after the subsidy recession. For new energy enterprises, the new subsidy policy brings new challenges. Under this background, Thornton New Energy proposed a "multi line parallel" strategy for power battery technology. In terms of traditional power battery technology, Thornton New Energy will continue to develop some high-end ternary flexible batteries in passenger vehicles. Secondly, Thornton New Energy will take into account the advantages of lithium iron phosphate battery, such as low cost, super long life, safe use, large capacity, green and environmental protection, and make full use of its technical advantages in the energy storage and bus market to expand the market.
