The "War" for Solid-State Batteries Begins -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment
Once, domestic and foreign auto giants have set their sights on power lithium batteries. This time, the wind direction has changed, and a new generation of high-efficiency solid-state batteries has become the "sweet pastry" that major car companies compete for.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)
Recently, Japan's New Energy Industry Technology Development Agency announced that it has launched the development of core technologies for a new generation of high-efficiency batteries (solid-state batteries) with companies such as Toyota and Panasonic.
The project strives to establish the core technology of solid-state batteries by 2022. By around 2030, reduce the cost of battery packs per kilowatt-hour to about 1/3 that of lithium-ion batteries and reduce fast charging time to 1/3 (ie 10 minutes). According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun -
Chen Qingtai, chairman of my country's Electric Vehicle Hundred People's Association, said recently: "In the field of lithium-ion batteries, Japanese companies have been overtaken by Chinese companies. In the solid-state battery project, Japan will use the strength of the whole country to promote research and development, and strive to regain the hegemony of the battery industry. This competition will motivate our country's companies to go the extra mile."

In fact, in the research and development of solid-state batteries, my country has achieved certain results in the research and development of solid-state batteries earlier.
According to data, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as a national science and technology team, has also played a leading role in the research and development of solid-state batteries. As early as November 2013, the Chinese Academy of Sciences laid out a strategic pilot project, hoping to research and develop some advanced materials and battery technologies that can be practically applied based on nanotechnology, with a target of 300Wh/kg. In the development of solid-state batteries, the five R&D teams under the Chinese Academy of Sciences have also made phased progress.
Industry insiders believe that in the short or medium term, solid-state batteries may achieve breakthroughs. Solid-state batteries will use lithium metal as the negative electrode to improve energy density and solve many problems facing the current industry.
Seize the "High Point"
When a new technology emerges, it always makes people "shocked". The solid-state battery is the investment "window" that makes the domestic and foreign auto giants enthusiastic.

Due to its high safety and long life, solid-state batteries have become the target of competition among major car companies. It is understood that BYD applied for an all-solid-state lithium-ion battery cathode composite material and a solid-state lithium-ion battery invention patent in August last year. In January this year, BYD stated on the investor interactive platform that the company is actively promoting the commercial use of solid-state battery projects.
According to media reports, BMW will work with battery technology company Solidpower to develop a new solid-state battery. Solidpower has previously claimed that it has ushered in a breakthrough in solid-state battery technology. The company has mixed high-capacity lithium metal anodes in lithium-ion batteries and created a new solid-state battery that has the same weight. The power is 2-3 times that of traditional lithium-ion batteries.
Earlier, electric car maker Fisker also applied for a solid-state battery patent. It is reported that Fisker's patent has described solid-state batteries with flexibility and superior energy density. The new battery will use three-dimensional solid electrodes to supply 2.5 times the energy density of current lithium-ion batteries.
