South Korea develops graphene battery materials -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment

Recently, according to South Korean media reports, the research team of Samsung Electronics General Technology Institute has successfully developed a new battery material "graphene ball", which is 45% higher than the charging capacity of existing lithium-ion batteries, and the charging speed is increased by more than 5 times.

The researchers found that after adding silica to the high-strength, high-conductivity graphene material, graphene can be synthesized in large quantities, and the synthesized graphene presents a three-dimensional shape like popcorn, so it is called "graphene ball". The use of this graphene ball material in the anode protective film and cathode material of lithium-ion batteries can improve the charging capacity, shorten the charging time, and ensure high temperature stability.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)

Graphene has long been considered a representative material in the new generation of materials, which is 100 times more conductive than copper and more than 140 times faster than silicon. This is also the reason why the graphene ball material battery can be charged five times faster than existing rechargeable batteries. South Korea plans to commercialize "graphene ball" lithium-ion batteries within five years.
