On October 26, 2018, at the 2018 my country Distributed Energy Storage Summit at Beijing West International Trade Hotel, in the morning "Keynote Report" section, Professor Liao Qiangqiang from Shanghai Electric Power University brought us "Echelon Utilization of Batteries in Distribution Research and applications in energy storage systems" report.

Ladies and gentlemen, good morning! My name is Liao Qiangqiang and I am from Shanghai Electric Power University. The title of my report today is "Research and Application of Echelon Utilization of Batteries in Distributed Energy Storage System". Our research group mainly carries out work on the status evaluation of battery performance, the application of energy storage system in power grid, planning and economy. .

I will mainly report from the following four aspects: first, the significance of cascade utilization; second, the practice of cascade utilization at home and abroad; third, the basis of our previous research work in energy storage; fourth, the use of cascade utilization problem discussion. Everyone said that the cascade utilization is very good and the cost is very low. In fact, there are many problems in the utilization process.

The significance of cascade utilization, just now, many experts mentioned the development of microgrid, energy storage, new energy, etc. Due to the diversity of distributed power sources and the complexity of the operation mode of microgrid, the energy storage system is an energy storage system. The pool is a guarantee for the reliable and safe operation of the microgrid. The above figures represent some typical cases of electrochemical energy storage. For example, the first is a sodium-sulfur battery, and the second is an inverting liquid. Flow batteries, the third is lithium batteries, and the fourth is lead-carbon batteries. Now there are many energy storage cases. The following two pictures are some scenes of our Shanghai Electric Power University microgrid. We have two campuses, one is Yangpu Campus and the other is Lingang Campus. Lingang Campus has just moved to Lingang District and is in the process of construction.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)

Just now, many experts have also mentioned that among various energy storage technologies, electrochemical energy storage is the fastest growing, and the cost is also the fastest. However, the current promotion of electrochemical energy storage is that everyone has been saying that the enthusiasm after the investment is good or not. In fact, what is the important obstacle, which is the problem of cost. For example, the cost of the lithium battery energy storage system still has to reach 3 yuan / watt time look.

A very large application scenario of lithium batteries in our country is electric vehicles. Dr. Liu also mentioned electric vehicles just now. The number of electric vehicles has exceeded 2 million. It looks like 2 million vehicles. After these 2 million enter the market, they will always be retired from electric vehicles in 3-5 or 5-8 years. Therefore, the retirement tide of power lithium batteries in our country is coming. It is predicted that by 2020 In 2010, the number of retired power lithium batteries in my country will reach 120,000-170,000 tons. Our government has done a lot of work. For example, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Notice on Doing a Good Job in the Recycling and Utilization of New Energy Vehicle Power Batteries". The key foundation here is that we focus on the rapid sharing of the cascade utilization of retired batteries.

In the first section, cascade utilization is of great significance. The most important thing is that it can reduce the cost of energy storage and promote the sustainable development of my country's industries such as energy conservation, emission reduction and recycling.

The second section is about the practice of cascade utilization at home and abroad. Echelon utilization is most interested in various new energy vehicle manufacturers, because after they launched new energy vehicles, as our country proposed at that time two responsible subjects after the retirement of electric vehicle batteries, one is new energy vehicle manufacturers, and the other is Battery suppliers, so various new energy vehicle manufacturers are actually very interested in cascade utilization.
