New Regulations for Recycling Lithium Batteries -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment
According to the "Regulations", from August 1, my country will implement traceability management for new energy vehicle products that have newly obtained the "Notice of Road Motor Vehicle Production Companies and Products" and imported new energy vehicles that have newly obtained compulsory product certification. Products are subject to traceability management. For new energy vehicle products that have been included in the "Notice" before and new energy vehicle products that are not included in the traceability management of imported car companies, relevant traceability information should be supplemented to the traceability management platform within 12 months of the implementation of the "Regulations".
In the first half of this year, my country's new energy vehicle sales increased by 111.5% year-on-year. While the new energy vehicle market is ushering in an explosion, the recovery and reuse of power lithium batteries has also become a new outlet. According to forecasts, from 2018 to 2020, my country's new energy vehicle power lithium batteries will usher in a "retirement tide". By 2020, the scrapped power lithium-ion battery will reach 32.2Gwh, about 500,000 tons; by 2023, the scrapped amount will be Reached 101Gwh, about 1.16 million tons.
On July 3, the Energy Conservation Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the "Interim Regulations on the Traceability Management of Recycling and Utilization of Power Batteries for New Energy Vehicles"; The six "Promoting Comprehensive Utilization of Industrial Resources" clearly pointed out that it is necessary to vigorously promote the recycling and utilization of power batteries for new energy vehicles.
While the policy is advancing rapidly, companies have begun to participate in the business related to the recycling of power lithium batteries. In January this year, my country Tower Corporation and 16 companies including Chongqing Changan, BYD, and Yinlong New Energy held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation in the recycling and utilization of power batteries for new energy vehicles.
Industry insiders said that with the continuous advancement of the policy, the recycling of power lithium batteries has received increasing attention from all parties. It is foreseeable that with the implementation of the new policy, more companies from both inside and outside the industry will begin to deploy the power lithium battery recycling business in the future.
