Korean air cell battery for Apple car battery -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment

According to South Korean media reports, a South Korean company that has made significant progress in air-core lithium-ion battery technology is currently working with Apple on the latter's car project (project Titan). The etNews report did not name the battery partner. "Because we have a nondisclosure agreement with Apple, we can't discuss anything related to this project," said one executive who spoke on the condition of anonymity.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)

Air-cell lithium-ion battery technology is capable of supplying more surface area per cell in each battery pack than closed cylindrical batteries. In addition, such batteries can easily be connected in parallel or in series without soldering. Air-core lithium-ion batteries also have the advantage of being easy to repair. When a single battery cell is damaged, it is not necessary to replace the entire battery pack, but only for a single battery cell.

Currently, the "unnamed" company produces hollow-core lithium-ion batteries that are about the size of "two fingers." It's unclear if the company will be able to scale the battery "scaled up" enough to support the use of the Apple Car.

According to earlier reports, the Apple Car is expected to arrive in 2020-2021, and former Apple executive Bob Mansfield appears to be working on project Titan. Apple has so far not officially acknowledged the existence of projectTitan. For the sake of confidentiality, the company even registered a shell company called SixtyEight Research to lead the research and development of Apple cars.
