Hydrogen energy industry should attach importance to the research of key materials -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment

As a clean secondary energy, the wide application of hydrogen energy will become an important factor affecting economic development and inject fresh blood into industrialization. Countries with leading hydrogen energy technologies in the world, such as the United States, Canada, Germany and Japan, have studied their fuel cell and hydrogen energy industry chain technologies for more than 20 years. The hydrogen energy industry system, core components and materials have all had the basis for mass production, and their commercialization has been rapidly promoted. In recent years, China has also put forward industrial development plans and support policies for hydrogen energy. However, the core process technology, core components and materials of China's manufacturing industry are relatively weak. In terms of the R&D and manufacturing of fuel cell systems, which are the core of the hydrogen energy industry, there are almost no R&D and manufacturers of materials and core components with certain specifications, stacks without their own intellectual property rights, and mass production manufacturing processes and technologies, There are only a few commercially operated fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen refueling stations, and the construction of the hydrogen energy industry chain is still in the initial stage.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)

At present, the difficulties in the development of China's fuel cell and hydrogen energy industry lie in:

First, the quality and level of fuel cells and other products need to be improved. Take the hydrogen energy core fuel cell system technology as an example. The fuel cell system is a power generation unit, and the stack is its core component. The key components of the stack are the membrane electrode assembly and bipolar plate. The key materials include proton exchange membrane, platinum catalyst, electrode plate material, electrode plate coating material, etc. However, China's level and quality in this regard cannot meet the requirements of fuel cells.

Second, the batch manufacturing technology has not been mastered. The achievements of some material and product design laboratories in China have reached the international level, but the fuel cell industry chain is still obstructed due to the lack of batch manufacturing technology and batch production lines. Taking the batch process technology of stack manufacturing as an example, China has not mastered the processing technology of electrode plates, the fully automated batch manufacturing technology of stack based on raw materials, and the batch manufacturing technology of catalyst coating, which directly affects the quality consistency and reliability of the stack and the quality of the entire fuel cell system. The high defective rate directly leads to the high cost. Without batch manufacturing technology, it can not meet the huge application market demand in China.

The third is the lack of general materials and manufacturing processes. For example, stainless steel is not only an important material for fuel cell electrode plate, but also an important material for pipeline hydrogen transmission in the future. Germany has used stainless steel 316L pipeline to transport pure hydrogen gas for about 40 years. China also produces steel materials of this batch number, but the grade is low and the impurities are high, which is not suitable for hydrogen transmission requirements. The application field of hydrogen energy industry chain requires a variety of high pressure valves, and requires high corrosion resistance and high pressure bearing performance of metal materials. China's steel making industry is large in scale, but it is unable to produce special and high-quality steel required by the hydrogen energy industry, and can only import in large quantities.

Suggestion:

start investment in key materials, core components and manufacturing technology as early as possible. At this stage, China's investment in hydrogen energy is mainly focused on the industrial development and market cultivation of fuel cells and hydrogen energy. Fuel cell vehicle manufacturers have received support funds, expanding the manufacturing scale of fuel cell vehicles. However, hydrogen energy basic materials and core components are the key to industrial development, and they still need to purchase a large number of international products. China has invested a lot for a long time, but the dominant power has not been in its own hands. Especially, fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies are civil military integration technologies, and their importance is self-evident. Therefore, our country needs to shift the focus to the research of key materials, core components and manufacturing technology as soon as possible.
