Digital production of lithium materials -Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment
Stimulated by downstream demand, lithium battery material manufacturers have expanded production on a large scale in recent years. It is worth noting that in this process, the tide of digital and intelligent production has quietly arrived.
The company increases its investment in digitalization
As the "upgraded version" of the traditional lithium iron phosphate battery cathode material, lithium manganese iron phosphate has recently received widespread attention. CATL, BYD and other leading battery companies have successively laid out, and lithium manganese iron phosphate cathode material has ushered in an expansion period.
In this context, Linfen Zhongbei New Material Co., Ltd. said that the investment and construction of the lithium manganese iron phosphate material smart plant project expanded the production scale, and improved the construction standard. Through the automatic configuration of the production line and the improvement of the production process, breakthroughs have been made in cost reduction, efficiency increase, energy conservation and emission reduction. It is reported that this is the first 10000-ton lithium ferromanganese phosphate smart factory production line put into operation in China.(Lithium - Ion Battery Equipment)
In general, this is only a microcosm of the digital transformation of lithium battery material industry. In March this year, Rongbai Technology, a manufacturer of cathode materials, announced that it would build a lithium battery cathode material manufacturing base with an annual output of 400000 tons in Xiantao. Specialization and digitalization are one of the characteristics of its production line.
Downstream battery companies are more "big" layout of digital production. In March of this year, CATL announced that it would build the world's first zero-carbon battery factory, realize data interconnection through automatic acquisition of plant system and equipment operation data, and use AI visual inspection system to automatically learn and extract defect features to improve the detection rate of all aspects of battery production. In April, Yiwei Lithium Energy also pointed out at its small cylindrical battery strategy announcement meeting that its newly built battery product line has realized full-process automation operation, while adopting digital operation to achieve lower carbon emissions.
It has been pointed out that compared with the traditional production workshop, the digital workshop has the function of real-time monitoring of on-site production information. By collecting data and building a workshop level network, the workshop production status will become more transparent under the support of technology, which is conducive to the company's timely adjustment.
Market expansion puts forward higher requirements for materials
From the perspective of the industry, it is the rapidly rising demand for lithium battery that is an important factor in promoting the digital transformation of lithium battery production. According to the data released by Bank of China International, a market research institution, the demand for lithium battery cathode materials has continued to rise in recent years. The domestic shipment of cathode materials has increased from 161000 tons in 2016 to 1094000 tons in 2021. At the same time, driven by the downstream new energy vehicle market, the agency predicted that by 2025, the demand for cathode materials is expected to reach 2.25 million tons, and the industry scale will be further expanded.
Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the Passenger Transport Association, told reporters: "The price of products in the lithium battery industry chain has been rising, and the new revenue of lithium battery related companies has directly made them have a higher cost capacity, and also provided the power for lithium battery manufacturers to expand production. The introduction of digital, intelligent and other new technologies will be the trend of the industry."
