Promote the industrialization of new system batteries

Chen Chunmei said that the "Guiding Opinions" clarified the important development goals of the power lithium battery industry from 2020 to 2025, and also proposed key tasks and safeguards to promote industrial development.

"The goal for 2020 is now very clear. The goal of 2025 is to further accelerate the research and development and production of batteries of the new system, and promote the industrialization of batteries of the new system." Chen Chunmei said.

Prior to June 30, the National Power Lithium Battery Innovation Center was established in Beijing. Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the inaugural meeting that the goal of power lithium batteries in 2020 is that the specific energy of a battery cell will reach 350 watt-hours per kilogram, and the cost will be reduced to 0.6 yuan per watt-hour.

The National Power Lithium Battery Innovation Center further proposed in the construction method proposal that around 2020, new energy vehicles will not rely on government financial subsidies, or significantly reduce financial subsidies to achieve universal application, and the cruising range of pure electric vehicles will reach 400km , The price of the whole vehicle remains unchanged - the specific energy of the power lithium battery system will be increased to 250Wh/kg, and the cost will be reduced to 1.0 yuan/Wh.

Chen Chunmei introduced that the "Guiding Opinions" will accelerate the construction of the national power lithium battery innovation center, strengthen the upgrade of lithium ion batteries and the research and development of new system batteries, promote the coordinated development of the industrial chain, strengthen the quality inspection of product safety, and improve the management business system. and other aspects to formulate further tasks and measures.

In addition to the "Guiding Opinions", Chen Chunmei revealed that the technical roadmap for power lithium batteries is now in the process of finalizing the documents and is expected to be announced in the next two months.

Taking lithium-ion batteries as an important technical direction, power lithium batteries are divided into technical routes of lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium-ion batteries. my country's power lithium battery industry is dominated by lithium iron phosphate system, while Japan, South Korea, the United States and other countries are dominated by ternary materials. At present, the former's energy, high and low temperature characteristics, and economy are significantly lower than the level of foreign power lithium batteries using ternary materials.

Gan Yong, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice chairman of the Chinese Society for Metals, believes that ternary materials must be developed in the future, and new breakthroughs must be made, but lithium iron phosphate will not give up. The future direction of lithium iron phosphate is iron manganese phosphate. Lithium and graphene lithium iron phosphate materials, the latter can still improve the specific capacity, and the final performance of filtration may be similar, and the cost should be further compared.

Xin Guobin said that various technical routes are not antagonistic, but different market positioning for different customer needs. There are different types of new energy vehicles in my country, such as buses, private cars, taxis, and logistics vehicles. The requirements for their cruising range, power performance, and cost are also very different. It is necessary to explore suitable products based on the needs of market segments.
